Wateringbury: St John The Baptist

St John the Baptist is a vibrant, inclusive church in a diverse community in Wateringbury. We hope our website provides some useful information about who we are and what we do.

We believe we need to be there for the people who live in this parish at all times: we baptize new born babies, we bury the dead; we celebrate with joy at weddings; we comfort people in grief. And, of course, we are there for people in all the more mundane aspects of life in-between: we want to help show God’s love for all people at all times of life.

If you haven’t been to our church or even any church before, please come and visit. You may be surprised at what you find: our members are young and old, come from all sorts of social backgrounds and our services celebrate God’s glory with joyful hearts. The people here are more than welcoming, they are faithful and committed to their faith in Jesus. They demonstrate their love for Jesus by showing care and concern for their neighbours. You will be assured of a very warm welcome if ever you decide to come and visit us in person.

We reflect on the fact that Jesus died on the cross to forgive us our sins and to bring us back into relationship with God. I do hope that you find that this is your experience of Jesus should you decide to visit St John’s. Please, don’t just leave it to a casual browse through our web pages!

We look forward to meeting you in the future.

God Bless
